There is much information about green tea that is important to know, especially in regards to your health and well-being. One of green tea's positive benefits is that it contains antioxidants. Antioxidants are chemicals that greatly reduce the rate of particular oxidation reactions in the body. This oxidation process can sometimes be carcinogenic and can release free radicals within your body. Free radicals can cause damage to your body's cells. Over time, this damage is irreversible and could lead to cancer.
